Uncle Deercamp - Old News - 2007 Archive

2007 was an insane year for us. Full of terrible events with a few good moments scattered over the top like cheap ass Bacos instead of REAL fucking bacon bits. What the fuck's up with that shit? $12.99 for the salad bar and you don't even have real fucking bacon bits? And the broccoli isn't even cut into bite size chunks? Get me the fucking manager...

Relive the excitement right here. Some links may be dead, so don't get too upset.

Who ever heard of an Elf Dentist?December 24, 2007 - Update

A quick update before I shut down for the next few days:

The Live365 feed has been updated with all the bits from Episode 101 and 102 and a bunch of other shit too.

Here's a cute Deercamp desktop screen for ya - that you can use for the next day or so.

And I figured that it was kinda late for a collection of Xmas bits (I have been insanely busy and just plain didn't have the time), so I just added them to the Live365 stream. But back here this week, I'll be posting some New Year type stuff instead. Probably on Thursday or Friday.

Episode 103 will be along in the first week of January. I think.

Hope everyone has a great holiday!

Thank you to everyone that's dropped by, downloaded a bit or two, emailed us or turned on their co-workers to us.... 2007 was an incredible year for us. And 2008 will be loaded down with more Deercamp goodness!

- Steve

Episode 102! December 21, 2007 - Episode 102

It's a little after midnight, so technically I didn't get Episode 102 posted until Friday.

Anyway, 80 minutes of new stuff is up and running right now. I'll post a few old Xmas bits later tonight.

More stuff to come. DVD details too. Merry Christmas!

I'm going to bed.

- Steve

December 19, 2007 - New Stuff Tomorrow

Sorry folks. Episode 102 will be up late tomorrow evening and a whole mess of Xmas bits from the Deercamp archives as well.

Back to work for me.

The Elf that can't get a job at Burger KingDecember 12, 2007 - The rest of 101 and another silly video

The last three bits from Episode 101 have just been added to the site. And as promised, one of them is mighty hefty.

Weighing in at 33+ minutes, Seizure Sex is the longest bit ever posted. I was talking with Byron earlier about it and we both agreed that most folks have broadband these days, and if they don't have it at home, they do at their job. So it should be no biggie.

And Byron and I also wanted to send a thanks to Red Shoes (one of our Myspace Friends) for taking the time to Elf-ify Byron in this video (4.6MB MPEG file). It's mighty silly.

Or you can go to the site and turn someone that you love into a dancing elf.

I wonder what my catch phrase would be were I to be turned into an elf? Hmmmmm.

- Steve

Episode 101! December 8, 2007 - Episode 101

Just posted three bits from Episode 101 - with three more to come. At least. One of the upcoming bits is going to be pretty hefty...

I had hoped to have these posted sooner but that Hanna Montana concert was just too much. I was so sore after that thing. I mean, I have been to dozens of metal concerts in the past 20 years, and I have never been in that much pain after a concert.

If you'd like to have a taste of my pain, you can download this tune from the Jonas Brothers - the boy band that opened the show. The main reason the girls I took to the show wanted to go in the first place.

Little Girls Scream - Quicktime 7 required (3.2MB H.264 file)

Enjoy!

Laser scalpel to the nuts!December 3, 2007 - Update

Last night I finally got around to updating the Live365 feed with a whole mess of new and old shit.

And just to warn those of you that can't live without your Deercamp fix, you may want to take some passionflower and Oxycontin on Thursday.

Episode 101 was recorded this past Saturday, but it's going to be a few days til I get to the editing. I'll be rocking out with Hanna Montana on my usual editing night - Ugh. I should have new bits posted on Friday at the latest.

We had a big show the other night and I'll be staggering the release of the bits over the next couple of weeks while Byron recovers after he gets his ball sliced and diced.

- Steve

It's not even a leftover episodeNovember 28, 2007 - The Non-Episode

It wasn't my intention to post another episode of leftover crap tonight, but that was about all there was left to edit.

We tried recording last week, but Byron was too sick and I was too injured. Needless to say, we will be recording this Saturday night and we'll have a lot to discuss. Both of us have follow ups on previous bits and plenty of holiday related crap.

Anyway, I know that there's a need for a Deercamp Fix out there, so instead of a new episode, we have a 1-hour long Non-Episode.

While each of the four bits posted may have their moments, they were probably better off on the cutting room floor. Although I have to admit, I really like the FedEx Fetus bit.

Come hell or high water, there will be all-new stuff posted this time next week.

The DVD is moving along. I'm about 75% of the way through the remastering and 25% of the way through the liner notes book.

I've been finding a ton of great things to throw in it too. In fact, if you have any pictures of your Uncle Deercamp bumper sticker in a fun place, send them along.

- Steve

Come To Daddy BEE-OTCH!November 19, 2007 - 2 More Bits

Byron and I recorded a few more bits the other night, but after talking to one of our correspondents, we found that a bit that we've recorded twice now is not quite complete.

It may just get sacked for Episode 101, but Byron and I are going to try and do a special recording session at some point in the next couple days to cover the story.

In the meantime, there are 2 new Episode 100 bits on the Ear Wax page. There should be two more later this week.

I'm still working on DVD remastering and such.

I'm beginning to seriously doubt that I'll have the DVD done in time for the Christmas buying season. What with the lack of free time, the time needed to make the DVDs and print the sleeve, shipping the things and so on.

I'd rather take the time to get it done right than rush it out and miss a bunch of things. It will be worth the wait and every penny.

And when I get a break later tonight, I'll update the Live365 Stream.

10:30PM - Wow. I kept a promise. The Live365 stream has been updated.

- Steve

Episode 100! Woo!November 14, 2007 - Episode 100... better than nothing.

Just posted the first 2 bits from Episode 100. There hasn't been a heck of a lot of time this past week, so I figured that posting a couple bits was better than nothing.

Don't fret. Byron and I will be recording the second half of the Episode 100 show this weekend, and there will likely be at least 5 more bits added to the two I posted tonight.

It'll be worth the wait.

And with any luck, I'll get a break before then and post a couple more bits...

- Steve

Take CoverNovember 10, 2007 - Nice Surprise

Just got the mail today and found that my copy of Queensryche's new CD Take Cover had arrived. Three days before it's official release.

Neat.

Welcome To The Machine is pretty fucking cool, but their cover of Neon Knights is killer. And their version of Bullet The Blue Sky ought to make Bono want to go and hide under a rock.

- Steve

November 7, 2007 - More Episode 99

Recording this past weekend didn't happen, so instead I've posted the remains of Episode 99. Over 1 hour of new shit!

Episode 100 next week, and watch this space for a few announcements too...

- Steve

Bucketheads!November 2, 2007 - Stream Update

Just finished updating the Live365 Stream. Enjoy!

- Steve

November 1, 2007 - Episode 99

As promised, I posted a few new Episode 99 bits this evening. And there will be at least 2 more to come. Probably 3 and maybe even more as I go back over what I missed from Episode 98.

- Steve

Byron deals with a troll from the RIAANovember 1, 2007 - Sore

I wanted to edit the new show last night but it just was not going to happen. I was wiped out and now I've got the post-holiday depression... Shit.

I'll get started on it later tonight and have something posted this time tomorrow. Episode 99 was a big show, so there will be a lot of new stuff - when I eventually get to it.

Halloween couldn't possibly have been better last night. For a change, the weather cooperated and even though rain was forecasted, it held off until about 8:30 - when the teenagers that are too cool to wear a costume usually go out trick or treating.

More later...

- Steve

It's a *GASP!* Rerun!October 25, 2007 - Halloween Rerun

As promised (this was an easy one to keep), I posted a few bits from the past today that focus on one of our favorite holidays here in Detroit. Why Halloween of course.

You thought I was going to say Devil's Night.

Shame on you.

And here's a killer Deercamp Halloween Wallpaper!
800x600 | 1024x768 | 1280x1024

As you may have guessed, Byron and I couldn't get Episode 99 recorded this past weekend, but all signs look good for recording on Saturday. We'll be making a couple special announcements during that show... Stay tuned.

- Steve

Boo!October 19, 2007 - Update

I know that it's been a lot longer than usual, but I finally got around to updating the Live365 stream last night. I bounced out half of what was posted and tried to dig up as much stuff as possible that's fairly new.

And for those of you that been having difficulty logging in to the stream, the folks at Live365 are helping me look in to it. As far as I know, it's running fine now. But the stream has been randomly croaking for no reason. Other stations run fine, but ours is the only one that's fucked up.

Byron thinks it's because Live365 doesn't approve of us and is sabotaging the stream so fewer folks will tune in.

We'll see.

- Steve

October 17, 2007 - Episode 98

Well, we keep on pushing forward to the big 100. I posted the first few bits of Episode 98 this evening, and among them are two Halloween bits.

Every year Byron and I try to dig up some horrible stuff that goes a bit beyond the usual crap that happens around here. This time we had to both go deep into the past for our scary tales. My story's pretty weak, but his is just plain horrendous.

Right now, we're not sure if we'll be able to swing recording this weekend: Byron is stuck being the single parent while his wife is out of town. So we'll have to wait and see how our time works out. Episode 99 will most likely be late.

But in it's place, I'll be digging up all of our previous Halloween bits and posting them early next week. You may have already heard some of them on our Live365 stream (which I'll be updating tomorrow evening), but in case you haven't it'll be a nice treat to go along with all the candy you'll get on the 31st.

- Steve

October 10, 2007 - Leftovers

A couple of last minute events forced Byron and I to call off recording last Saturday. So instead of giving you nothing this week, I've decided that it's time to clean out the fridge and feed you 80 minutes of leftovers.

I dug up 4 bits from current and previous episodes and warmed them up in the microwave and threw them on some paper plates. No silverware either. Just plastic sporks and Target-brand paper towels for napkins.

Dig in! They're not going to go away just because they've got mold growing on them.

- Steve

October 3, 2007 - Episode 97

Three new bits from Episode 97 were posted this evening - about one hour of new tripe.

I'm a little bit behind on work right now, but I'm hoping to get a couple more bits posted before I archive Episode 96 and 97.

And it's beginning to look like we might actually have the DVD ready by the holiday season... it all depends on how long it takes me to remaster the old shit.

Byron and I also wanted to thank everyone that sent us their email and links and videos this past week. It's nice to share.

- Steve

Hiya Kids! Hiya! Hiya!October 1, 2007 - Update

Just finished updating the Live365 stream with a whole mess of new and old shit. I even managed to dig up a few bits that don't appear to have been on the stream for quite some time.

Other than that, there isn't a hell of a lot going on around here right now. I've begun work on the extras that will go with the Uncle Deercamp Ultimate Collection DVD.

We're also looking to have our call in capabilities up and running for the 100th episode - we almost had it but the new technology decided that it wasn't going to be reliable enough for us to record with. It's going to happen. Stay tuned.

I was loaded up with work over the weekend and didn't get to the last bit from Episode 96, so I'll do my best to get it together for this week and post it with Episode 97 this Thursday.

Uh. I think that's about it.

And for those of you that know where I got that little Froggie picture (You're most likely a Detroiter and have fond memories), let me ask you: Would you pay $9.99 a month for one butchered horror movie? Let me know what you think.

- Steve

September 27, 2007 - Episode 96

Five new bits were added in the wee hours of this morning: 2 holdouts from Episode 95 (Yeah, I know. They're not the best bits we've ever done) and 3 from Episode 96 (One more to come).

As far as I know, we're still on track for recording this next weekend. Byron's voice is mostly back and I'm mostly scabbed over.

And hopefully this time the computer doesn't eat any of our recordings...

- Steve

...September 24, 2007 - Recovering

Byron and I decided to cancel recording this past weekend.

Byron's voice was pretty much gone and I got good and fucked up while out running. It's been a couple days and I can type again.

I'm hoping to get to those last bits from Episode 95 in the next day or so (provided I have the time - I'm really behind now) and then move on to 96. We'll be recording 97 this coming weekend and getting back into the swing of things.

- Steve

September 19, 2007 - Episode 95

Just posted a couple new Episode 95 bits. I was hoping that I'd get a couple others posted, but I just didn't have enough time. I should have a few more bits posted this weekend or sooner...

Some of you may be wondering where you can find the pictures and video that we talk about in the Whining With Alice bit...

Well, I tried posting the video that Byron shot of the show on YouTube, but the video was taken down by the powers-that-be less than 24 hours later. I noticed that the video had been hit a few times, so at least a few folks saw it.

I did manage to post 8 shots on our MySpace page of Alice rocking out on stage. I also have an album there with 10 shots that Byron and I took of the folks in the crowd.

Sometimes the tools in the crowd are more entertaining than the actual concert.

Oh yeah, I updated the Live365 feed the other day too.

- Steve

September 12, 2007 - Episode 94

Just finished posting a few new bits from Episode 94 this evening. I think I might be able to scrape one more bit out of that session before I move on to 95. Head over to the Photo Proof page for some images that help support the bits.

As far as I know, Byron and I will be recording Episode 96 this coming weekend... getting us ever closer to the release of the DVD.

Gee... I better get to work on fixing the old recordings...

- Steve

New stuff...September 7, 2007 - 2 New Bits

I posted a couple new bits to Episode 93 the other day.

I had every intention of mentioning something here and on the Blog, but just plain forgot.

- Steve

Buring on the LodgeSeptember 1, 2007 - Blazing on the Lodge

If you're a resident of the Detroit area, you no doubt have been tearing your hair out for the past several months over the closure of the Lodge Freeway (M-10 for you out of towners).

Mercifully, the Lodge has re-opened and we're all so much happier.

Byron happened to be one of the first folks to ride the newly opened Lodge freeway, and managed to catch another first: The first burning hulk on the new Lodge Freeway.

Click here for the video (1MB H264 file).

Oh, and I updated the Live365 feed today too.

- Steve

August 22, 2007 - Episode 92 Stragglers and 93

It doesn't happen often, but I got a little inspired this evening (a 4 hour nap in the middle of the afternoon appears to be agood thing once in a while) and finished off the last couple bits from Episode 92 and got started on 93.

I think I'll probably get 2 more bits from 93 before it's all done.

Nothing else new to report....

Except that August 2007 has become our biggest month ever in Downloads!

The previous record set back in January of last year has finally been beaten and we still have a couple days to go! Woo Hoo!

Thanks to everyone that's been hammering the site! We love the abuse! Bring it!

- Steve

The Teenage Heart-Throbs of Living Proof.August 26, 2007 - Living Proof

Well, according to Stephen King, Dead Evidence is indeed that, Dead. But rising up from the ashes like a phoenix, is Living Proof!

So I changed the site around a bit to reflect that. So if you bookmarked the Dead Evidence page (you didn't? SHAME!), you'll need to fix that.

The cool news here is that Hometown America has really shot up the ranks. They were up to 983 plays of Hometown America when I checked earlier today.

Go give it a listen!!

- Steve

August 22, 2007 - Episode 92

I know that I promised more unreleased bits, but I couldn't wait to dig in to the stuff we recorded last weekend.

Episode 92 is online and ready to rock. In fact, there are 2 more bits that I'll probably hold on to until next week.

Once you've downloaded the new stuff, you can help out Stephen King's band Dead Evidence (They're called Dead Evidence here at Uncle Deercamp... I know, it's a little confusing) by requesting their song on ClearChannel's Artist Submission page right here.

Last time I looked, "Hometown America" had 78 hits (which is a big jump from what it was this morning). If you like it, you can download it here.

And congratulations to Steve on Living Proof's first release - which will be available at all your favorite download sites in October (I'll post the date and more info later). Get ready to ROCK with Living Proof!

And remember where you heard it first! Who's your Uncle?

- Steve

Cut yourself! Cut Yourself!!!!!!August 21, 2007 - Live365 Update

I dug a little deeper into the Deercamp archives for the latest update to the Live365 stream, so that the new listeners can get a taste of what they've been missing for the past 3 years.

Byron noticed the other day that we suddenly jumped up to the THIRD HIGHEST RATED COMEDY STATION on LIVE365! WOO!

I think that's pretty fricking cool. Thanks to everyone that's tuned in. I'll do my best to keep the material rotation as fresh as possible in the future...

Episode 92 will be posted Thursday! Or at least part of it will...

- Steve

August 15, 2007 - Episode 91: Unreleased Shit and Other News

It happens from time to time...

Byron and I record a show that is so horrible that there's no saving the thing. And that happened last week when we belched out Episode 91.

So instead of posting that load, I started digging in to the bits from the past few episodes that never made it to the site for one reason or the other.

Currently there are only 3 bits posted, but I'll have at least 2 more posted over the weekend.

Also posted today is a new page on the site called Photographic Proof - a page dedicated to images that help lend a bit more credibility to the things we talk about.

And before I forget again, our Uncle Deercamp T-Shirt will soon be going up in price (it's not just us - any one that uses CafePress is going to have the prince increase). So if you want a T-Shirt, you may want to order it now. The prices will be going up by $3 for our 2-sided shirt in "late August".

- Steve

Ask Byron about the person in this costumeAugust 5, 2007 - New Stuff on Live365

Just updated the Live365 stream with all the new Episode 90 shit and a whole mess of other stuff.

Now get back to work.

- Steve

August 3, 2007 - Episode 90

I didn't mean to take an extra day to get around to editing Episode 90, but hey... What're ya gonna do?

Anyway, 4 new bits have been added to the Ear Wax page and if I get a bit of time over the weekend, I'll be adding one more bit (it's a long one).

I'm planning on updating the Live365 feed tomorrow too. So when you go to work Monday morning, there'll be a bunch of new things to listen to.

And it's still not too late to tell Byron and myself about your Weird Fuck Places... We'll be talking about a few when we record tomorrow's show.

- Steve

Staleek is getting impatientAugust 1, 2007 - Episode 90 Tomorrow

Well, time just wasn't there for me tonight, so editing will have to wait until tomorrow. At which point I'll do my best to get all of Episode 90 posted.

The beginning of the month is always a busy time for me with new deadlines and such, so it's just a little rough at the moment.

So I'll probably post a "classic" Deercamp bit to the podcast in the morning. No idea which one it'll be though... Hmmm.

But before I forget, I wanted to thank all the visotors to the site last month. We had the biggest month of downloads ever.

And the summer time is usually a slow time for the site. Go figure...

- Steve

Will bags a critterJuly 20, 2007 - Keep The Pressure On

Finally got a minute to update the Live365 stream today.

No idea what's going on with the whole Internet Radio versus the CRB thing. According to the floks at Live365, the deadline has passed, but they're not going to ream us out for the money the CRB wants for a while to come.

Anyone with half a brain can tell that this is all smoke and mirrors. The CRB is just waiting for the media attention to die down and then when Congress is having a bad day from not getting enough sleep, they'll slip their shit in under the radar and then we'll all be listening to Middle-of-the-Road drivel instead of the diversity we all love on Internet Radio...

If you haven't yet, please go to SaveNetRadio.org and send your representatives a letter or email or phone call. The only thing the folks in Washington understand is pressure. And we have to keep applying it.

--

And we have to send a special thanks to Chris from Montana for the picture above...

It's a little known fact that the Uncle Deercamp logo is irresistible to wild animals. They go into a trance and get in close and then BLAM! - Their new name is "pelt".

- Steve

July 19, 2007 - Episode 89

A few quick bits from Episode 89 were posted this morning... Actually I have to be honest. One of them is a leftover bit from Episode 88 and the other 2 are from 89.

When Byron and I recorded Episode 89, we were both completely wiped out. To say that we phoned it in is an understatement. We managed to record several bits, but perhaps the funniest thing about them is hearing us make a steady slide into exhaustion (Byron had just spent over 10 hours remodeling/destroying his bathroom and I spent the day taming the foliage in my backyard).

I think I'll take some of the choice examples of this and post them later. There are still a few more bits that I'd like to get edited together and post.

Well, other than the new bits, the other day I added a couple new Music pages - Download tunes from kXcringe and Stephen King's group Living Proof.

You've been hearing their tunes during our intros, now you can groove to their jams without having to put up with Byron and I jabbering over them.

And while I was making the upgrades, I posted a bunch of Brother Crimewave tunes that haven't been on the site in a while.

- Steve

July 11, 2007 - Episode 88

It looks like we'll be taking another weekend off this coming Saturday, so I'm only posting three bits from Episode 88 tonight and will post a couple more next week.

Byron's taking a weekend off to seek cousel from his spirit guide in the northern wilds of michigan while I'm left back here in the city to deal with Tent Sales and bums camping out next to my car.

It must be July.

For an explanation on the picture to the right, check out the new Hello Doily bit. It's a keeper.

- Steve

Evil Nine fucking rocks!July 3, 2007 - Independence Day

It's a day late, but when you tune in after blowing up a pile of cheap Chinese fireworks tomorrow night, you'll have a whole mess of new stuff to listen to on the Live365 stream.

About 26 new/old items have been added to the stream.

Have a safe and happy Independence Day!

- Steve

July 1, 2007 - Episode 87

All right. So I didn't get anything else posted to Episode 86.

I figured you'd rather have something a tad bit fresher, so I cranked out a few bits from Episode 87 this evening.

I'll give the Live365 stream an overhaul tomorrow.

And there will be some other new items posted this week... Stay tuned...

- Steve

June 25, 2007 - Episode 86

Before I get on with the day, I thought it might be nice to post a couple bits from Episode 86 - There's probably one more salvageable bit from that recording session and then it's on to 87 and 88.

And for anyone that may be wondering, we will indeed be participating in the Internet Radio Day of Silence that will be effecting the Live365 (among many others) airwaves tomorrow.

FYI, the UncleDeercamp.com will stay online and you can download your brains out all day.

(Click here for our super-serious PSA)

Anyone that logs in to the Uncle Deercamp stream will get a series of PSA's and silence. If you're a VIP listener, you'll get the PSA and then be shuffled off to the VIP stream.

If you're a fan of internet radio, please do your part and contact your representative and senators. Start by clicking over to savenetradio.org or at live365.com/choice. It's real easy. Just fill in the form letter and send it.

And if all this is just static to you, then by all means, spend the day listening to your local FM shit stations and count how many times you hear "Comfortably Numb" inside of a 5 hour period.

- Steve

Avon CallingJune 14, 2007 - Stream Update

I had no idea that so much time had passed since the last ime I updated the Live365 stream, so I gave the thing a big overhaul this evening.

I bounced out and added 26 new/old bits. Enjoy!

- Steve

June 12, 2007 - Episode 85

Just got a couple new bits from Episode 85 posted this evening. I'm in the middle of editing the rest of them, but one of them's 40 minutes long and the rest are about 20 minutes each.

So.... it's taking a bit more time than usual. I'll do more tomorrow.

And I'll get the Live365 stream up to date too.

- Steve

Les Stroud's new showJune 6, 2007 - More Shit On The Way

Well, there are a couple episodes in the can right now and I'll start editing them in the next day or so. And while the studio is FINALLY getting cleaned up and painted, we'll be taking this Saturday off.

Byron's heading out of town this weekend for a much needed mini vacation. But the rumor is that Byron's going to be filming a segment for his new TV show: Rehabman.

- Steve

Fuck CompUSA! Die Bitch! Die!May 30, 2007 - Episode 84 Leftovers

I added four new bits from Episode 84 to the site this evening.

Episode 85 is on the way...

- Steve

Drink! Drink! Drink!May 24, 2007 - Streamer

As promised, the Live365 stream has been updated with about 22 new and old bits.

- Steve

May 24, 2007 - Episode 84

Oh yeah, I also posted 3 new bits from Episode 84 (and our interim Episode from last weekend - it was Byron's birthday and we recorded only a couple of bits).

There will be more of Ep. 84 posted over the next couple of days, and I'll update the Live365 stream tomorrow.

- Steve

Yep, that's a real coupon for Kleenex...May 23, 2007 - What Goes Around...

I have gotten a few Vulcan Hairy Eyeballs in response for my decision to post the picture of Byron below. Byron wasn't so much horrified by my photgraphic skills (or lack thereof), but with my description of the scene.

Well, today I got a bit of karmic retribution when I was the victim of mistaken identity in a police investigation.

While making an innocent transfer of CD's at a local Denny's parking lot, myself and my client were strong armed by police and mistakenly thought to be perps of a recent crime.

There'll be more on this in the next show... Hopefully, I'll stop shaking by then.

I'm just glad they didn't look in the trunk.

- Steve

The 40-something AdonisMay 14, 2007 - Drunken Bastification

It all seemed like it was going to go so smoothly...

Then Byron consumed enough that it nearly resulted in him, myself and our comrades (who I'm sure would rather go unnamed) getting kicked out of the Dio Sabbath show before they even got to their third tune. As if there were no other drunken folks in Cobo Arena that night.

It took an act of God.. and muscle... to get Byron out of Cobo Hall and up 4 flights of stairs and ultimately to the roof top parking area.

Rest assured, the pictures that I took will be making it to the site very soon... And this event will probably be at least a 2-parter on the next show.

Can't wait.

Oh yeah, and we'll probably be doing the same thing at several other events this summer.

Bring the kids.

- Steve

May 10, 2007 - Episode 83

I figured that it might not be a bad idea for me to kick out the bits from Episode 83 tonight so I can concentrate on how much I'm going to enjoy the Heaven and Hell concert.

But I'll probably end up being the designated driver...

You like it.May 8, 2007 - Bizarro Stream

Just updated the Live365 stream with about 70 MB of new and old stuff. Including the entire Episode 82 collection.

We have 2 episodes in the can right now and I hope to have at least one edited this week.

This coming weekend, the show is most likely going to be a short one. I don't want to jinx it, but we're supposed to be going to the Heaven and Hell concert this weekend. I'm not telling any of my clients so I won't get slammed the day before with work that I need every waking moment of my life to accomplish.

So tell everyone (excecpt the people I work with) to come to Cobo Hall and party with Deercamp this Saturday night...

April 27, 2007 - Episode 82

Time just has not been on my side lately. I'm buried with work once again (keep telling myself that it's a good thing) and have had zero time to work on anything Deercamp related. Shit, I haven't even answered emails that listeners have sent in over the past week.

I know, I know... I'm an asshole.

And it's not likely to get any better over the next several days.

So I decided to take this evening off and grind out the entire collection of bits from Episode 82 and post them. I should be working, but that's what weekends are for.

Byron and I recorded Episode 83 last week and if things ease up a bit, I'll get to editing that later this week.

I'll have the Live365 Stream updated at some point this week too.

And if you haven't already, please visit savenetradio.org and send a canned letter to your representatives. I've been yelling and so has Byron, but I think they're tired of hearing from us.

This is serious shit folks.

Even if you're not a big fan of Internet radio, you'll notice when it's gone.

And that's what's going to happen. Most of it will just go away. Leaving you with a small selection of Internet radio stations that sound just like the shit on the FM dial.

Go out and buy Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. - Now.April 17, 2007 - Streamin'

The Live365 Stream has been updated with the latest bits from Episode 81 and some holdouts from 79 and 80.

I've also dug into the aging Deercamp shit barge and found a few things that haven't been on the stream in a long time - or ever in some cases.

- Steve

April 15, 2007 - Episode 81

Just finished posting 4 bits from Episode 81 this evening - so I can make way for editing Episode 82 and hopefully have that up and running later this week.

But not before I give the Live365 stream another boost. I'll probably get to that tomorrow.

Byron has also sent along some new Detroit site-seeing photos that I'll podcast later this week.

I'm also hoping to finally have tunes from Kxcringe and Stephen King posted this week as well.

And a series of new t-shirts and some other shit too.

And it's all for fucking free! Woo!

oldApril 4, 2007 - It's Our Birthday!

Yep. Three years ago today the Uncle Deercamp Show began emanating from this site.

So go out and celebrate with a Colt45 and your favorite hooker.

Oh, and I posted a couple not-terribly-funny-but-they-were-there bits to epsiode 79 and 80.

Murdoc Who?April 3, 2007 - Stream Update

Just got around to updating the Live365 feed with some new shit. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Oh, and the Autorama Skank pictures will be posted to the podcast tomorrow.

Steal this one assholeApril 2, 2007 - Toobin'

Got around to posting the support video for the "Bikini Bottom Pictures" bit on You Tube the other night.

While I was at it, I also added the Crunch Bus vids and even a Happy's Pizza commercial. Prepare to be amazed by that one.

So to go with the bit the "Bikini Bottom Pictures" here is a link to the news item that plays in the bit. I'd embed the video in the page, but I hate it when folks do that.

I've misplaced the shots Byron took of the Autorama skank, but I should have them later today. In the meantime, here's a great picture of Lourdes Duarte from Fox2... Whatta babe.

(September 1, 2007 - Some little ass-boy decided to tap into the picture instead of just stealing it like any normal person would, so I've got this placeholder here for now. I wonder how long it'll take for him to figure it out?)

- Steve

March 29, 2007 - Episode 80

I couldn't stand it last night and instead of continuing with my edits to Episode 79, I decided to dig in to Episode 80 instead.

I should be busting out a few more bits from 79 and 80 this weekend.

And in case you're wondering where the support pictures and videos for the "Bikini Bottom Pictures" bit are, have no fear. I'll have them posted later today.

But for now, I have to get to work.

March 27, 2007 - The CRB Attacks The Uncle Deercamp Recording Studio

Byron done took this pik-chur!

Luckily Byron was out scoring some rock and I was in the backyard frying up some turducken when this all went down.

Bastards.

Dr. Wakeman is fucking hot.March 23, 2007 - Shit keeps rolling...

You'd think that after the week I had, the world would relax for a few minutes before throwing another curve ball at us.

There are several Deercamp listeners that like to listen to the show on Live365 (Thanks to all of our lsiteners for making us the highest rated All Original Comedy Station on Live365!). But Internet Radio may be changing dramatically in the near future.

I won't bore you with the details of what's going on (For that you can click over here, or here, or here). The short story is that Live365 and other Internet Radio venues are going to start hosing their broadcasters for a lot more money to keep us broadcasting. Not because they want to, but because they have to. This is all thanks to the ridiculous royalty fee increases that the Copyright Royalty Board feels are fully justified.

What this means for Uncle Deercamp on Live365 is that we may be slapped with a retroactive $500 fee for broadcasting last year, and $500 more to keep us on the air in 2007 (since Uncle Deercamp is an independent station we may be immune to the fee, but probably not). While this will put a lot of Internet Radio stations out of business, it will turn larger Internet Radio stations into what will sound just like Regular Radio. In other words, loaded with fucking ads...

You'd have to be a fairly new Deercamp listener to think that we'd take that kind of shit without a fight.

Right now, Live365 and other Internet Radio venues are fighting the CRB and this horse shit.

Live365 says that listeners can help by becoming VIP listeners, but I urge you not to. At least not until this shit sorts itself out. If you listen to Live365 all the frigging time, you already are a VIP. And it's a silly expenditure for the casual Internet Radio listener. And I'm not going to beg you to buy our t-shirts or send us donations or any of that other crap.

If you love Internet Radio, make a call or send an email to your representatives in Congress. That'll do a hell of a lot more good.

Byron and I have also joined the fray from our end, but the last thing the folks defending Internet Radio need is the support of two assholes like us. Nevertheless, we've been writing letters and making calls to the powers that be here in Michigan.

If we do end up having to leave Live365, we've already found an alternate means of streaming the show and the downtime will be kept to a minimum. We'll keep you posted if and when this goes down. Early numbers have shown that people are leaving Live365 in droves.

Byron and I will be recording a special Sunday-Edition of the show tomorrow night, and rest assured, this topic will be covered...

March 18, 2007 - Partial Episode 79 and Byron's Very First Post!

In true Uncle Deercamp style, there has been a strange death in Steve’s girlfriend’s family. Namely her sister. I don't want to speculate too much as to a cause or intentions, even though that’s what I do best.

She leaves behind 3 daughters and a husband of almost 20 years. She was a successful business woman, working as a high level executive for a large bank. "That’s a fucking red light". Her husband was no slouch either.

So... when they fished her car out of a lake with her in it, and a bag taped over her head, one might wonder WTF happened.

For the most part the cops are clueless right now and I think they have worn out a stack of telephone books beating up her husband trying to get him to crack for something / anything.

I'm sure Steve will be preoccupied for a while helping his girlfriend and her family. Steve will be back to participating and editing the show soon. He's going to need something to do while hiding from his new instant family. Sorry about the disruption in feeding your ISO Cert. sick humor needs just be patient it will be worth it. Really...

DETROIT I LOVE THIS PLACE

- Byron

Yeah, I don’t think I could have said it better. I just wish Byron's first post on this page would have come under different circumstances.

Anyway... Right now, everyone’s just pretty shocked. There was no warning. And while I'm all for leaving the theater halfway through a shitty movie, unless you went alone, you have to think about your family still in their seats toughing it out.

Things will likely get crazier as the week progresses.

In this calm before the hysteria really takes hold, I posted a straggler from Episode 78 and 2 bits from Episode 79. I'm going to try and get to the Live365 feed tomorrow. I'll probably have a lot of time to kill at the funeral home this week.

Thanks!

- Steve

March 7, 2007 - Episode 78

I'm not done editing all of it yet, but to slake your Deercamp needs part way, I posted 3 new Episode 78 bits this evening.

We're planning on recording this weekend and if all goes well, I'll have a few more bits posted shortly. There's a mess of stuff from previous shows that I just never got to... so maybe this is the weekend I get to them.

I'll believe it when I see it.

I think Byron and I will go and terrorize the folks at the CompUSA that's closing in my neighborhood instead.

- Steve

(the link for S&M Sasquatch has been repaired - March 8, 2007)

March 5, 2007 - Bad Weekend

Yeah, you're wondering where the next episode is.

It's on the way... I had a very bad weekend and am not only behind on Deercamp postings, but just about everything else around here.

So in the meantime, here's a cool picture of Yvonne DeCarlo.

- Steve

February 28, 2007 - Called It!

Not that I want to make light of folks that have lost their jobs, but I can't say that I'm going to shed too many tears over CompUSA closing 126 stores.

Restructuring, my aching ass. This is the beginning of the end for CompUSA.

I saw this day coming back in September when we recorded Episode 62. And the fuckers at my local CompUSA had the nerve to tell me that there was no way that their store was in trouble. Let alone the whole company.

Every CompUSA in the Detroit area appears to be on the chopping block. We do however get the privilege of hanging on to one store... in Lansing.

Gee, where are we going to go to get our daily dose of pretentious (or useless) sales folks and over priced technology? Any ideas? Email us.

Oh, I updated the Live365 feed last night.

- Steve

February 22, 2007 - Episode 77

I decided to give up on what's left of Episode 76 for now and concentrate on Episode 77 instead. As a result, 3 new bits have been added.

Byron and I are planning on recording a new episode this weekend. And it should be a monster.

In the mean time, I'm not sure what's going on with the frigging Podcast. Now I'm being told that the original URL is still fine - even though I can't get at the damn thing.

We'll see how it goes.

-- Yeah, the old podcast URL seems to be fine now. It's now accessible via Google.

- Steve

February 20, 2007 - More Podcasting Shit

I guess that it has to happen at least once a year.

Feedburner decided once again to upchuck our feed and made it impossible for me to reactivate the existing feed URL.

I'm sure that Blogger and their updated bullshit didn't have anything to do with it either.

So here's the scene: The old Podcast URL appears to still be funtioning on a minimal level and works through Google.

The new Podcast URL seems to be far more stable and faster at updating. Though I have no idea why it couldn't see the Costco Bomber bit. Whatever.

So update your podcast players with the new URL: http://feeds.feedburner.com/UncleDeercamp

- Steve

February 19, 2007 - One more - more to come...

And one more lonely bit from Episode 76 was posted this morning.

I'm a bit behind right now, but should get a big enough break to get to the rest of ep. 76 and start on ep. 77 this week.

While you wait, download a couple "D" Rat Desktops...
800x600 | 1024x768

Busy busy busy...

- Steve

February 15, 2007 - Episode 76

One lonely bit from Episode 76 made it to the site this morning. There are a few more on the way - I'll probably get to them this weekend.

I was hoping to get more done by now, but hey... what'reya gonna do?

- Steve

Jane is Crazy for the Deercamp...February 11, 2007 - Be Our Valentine

Thanks to the endless wisdom of the folks at Fox, I had a bit of time between The Simpsons and Family Guy that allowed me the time needed to give the Live365 stream a bit of an update.

All of Episode 74 and 75 have been added to the stream.

And if things go well, I might even have Episode 76 will be online by Valentine's Day. But will any of you send me chololate, flowers or a book of those sex coupons?

I frigging doubt it.

- Steve

February 7, 2007 - Episode 75

Just finished posting a couple of bits from Episode 75.

It was a short episode because Byron had to head out to his old hometown for a drunken beer fest and I was recovering from taking too much migraine medicine.

To be honest, I don't even know why we bothered recording.

Anyway, there are 2 bits posted now and if I'm lucky, I might be able to extract one more before I head into editing Episode 76.

This weekend I'll also update the Live365 feed with all the latest stuff and see about posting some stuff that hasn't been on the stream before.

I also gave the site an annual facelift with a new navigation interface and cleaned up a few pages. It's still a work in progress, but I hope to have most of the pages complete this weekend. Especially the Fan Page! That's gonna rock.

- Steve

January 31, 2007 - Episode 74

Well, it may not be our funniest episode ever, but Episode 74 certainly has it's share of "moments". Notably the "Eating With The Rats" bit. Ugh. Things are really bad here in Michigan.

I might be able to extract one more bit from Episode 74'ssession, but I think I'll move on to the mini episode we recorded last week and get that up and running pretty quickly.

But before I forget, I wanted to say thank you to everyone that's dropped by over the month of January. Our download numbers were incredible (Jan 2007 is officially our second best month ever). And new listeners on Live365 have been joining the Deercamp ranks in hordes.

You all rock! Woo!

- Steve

Mr. Groin rules!January 23, 2007 - Streaming

I managed to scrape together a few minutes this eveninig and gave the Uncle Deercamp Live365 Stream a pretty hefty update. I tried to post bits that haven't been on the stream in a long time (or ever).

With any luck, I'll have some time to edit Episode 74 before this weekend rolls around.

But before then, I'm goinig to try and get all the empty and/or fucked up pages around the site either removed or filled with something. This will include a series of new photo pages.

- Steve

January 18, 2007 - Episode 73

I figured that I'd pull a late one this evening and kick out the entire collection of stuff from Episode 73. A little "thank you" to everyone that's been patiently awaiting new stuff around here.

And Episode 73 is 90+ minutes of new stuff.

With any luck, I'll have the Live365 feed updated this evening and a few other minor fixes taken care of on the site...

- Steve

Shut Back OnJanuary 15, 2007 - Shut Back On

Finally got around to posting the tunes from Shut Back On today.

There are three tunes here (Check out Long Brown Hair) and soon will be added to the Uncle Deercamp Live365 stream as well.

If you're in the Metro Detroit area, you can see Shut Back On perform this Friday (click for the playbill) at the My Space Internet Cafe in lovely Roseville.

More Shut Back On stuff will be posted soon and Episode 73 will be on the site in the next day or so. Definitely by Thursday.

And don't think I've forgotten about Brother Crimewave. I'll be posting some new stuff there soon too...

Rock On!

- Steve

About half as many pills as I've taken today.January 10, 2007 - Even More Updates

Sooner or later, I'll get a break long enough to get to all the things that I keep promising around here, but until then, I'm happy to be busy with work.

Although I think it's killing me....

Nevertheless, I'm absolutely shocked that I made it this far today - No thanks to migraines, sinus infections and being an all around big fat sickie.

Anyway, I finally got around to editing the last couple bits from Episode 72 and added them to the Ear Wax page.

But last week, Byron had to cancel our recording session so he could engage in the last remnants of Holiday Get-Togethers. I haven't heard from him since, so hopefully he's not dead. The sushi girls would be very disappointed.

Assuming that he's alive, we'll finally get to the firrst show 2007 this weekend. I'll have it posted as quickly as I can.

- Steve

It'd be cool to see her blowing Danny...January 4, 2007 - More Updates

I decided rather than kill myself with work this evening (Fuck it, I'll kill myself tomorrow), I'd take a few minutes (hours actually) to update a few things.

First off, the Live365 stream has been given a pretty hefty overhaul. All the new bits from the last 3 episodes have been added to the stream and a bunch of old crap too.

I also got around to bouncing all the bits from our My Space page and replaced them with other crap that you've already heard.

And I added a few new pictures to the My Space page as well. Including a pic of a killer lawn job that I had the pleasure of waking up to yesterday. Let me know if you've had any experiences either administering or receiving lawn jobs in the past - it'll be a topic on the next show...

And there's even an un-pixelated picture of me there now too.

I may be wrong, but I think Byron ditched his Mr. Kirby My Space page and is now representing Uncle Deercamp's own We-Wish Obituary reporter Ray Ray instead. Could more Obituaries be in the works?

Speaking of new stuff, as soon as I get a few minutes to build the pages and shit, I'll be adding the music of Shut Back On to both the site and to the Live365 stream. They freaking rock. Check out their My Space page in the meantime...

- Steve

January 3, 2007 - 2 more bits

Happy New Year!

Work has been keeping me very busy these last couple of weeks and thankfully is showing no signs of letting up. But that means less time to edit show bits and such.

I just posted one more bit to Episode 71 and one from 72. With at least 2 more bits on the way.

I know that the Live365 stream is in desperate need of updating and I promise that it will get a major overhaul before the weekend is upon us. Or over the weekend. Forget that I promised anything.

Byron and I were way too baked on holiday cheer to record last weekend, so we'll be dishing out an extended episode Saturday night. We'll be going over the big plans for 2007 and other pipe dreams.

But before I forget, Byron and I wanted to thank all our listeners and those that have emailed us and appear to like us enough to request a CD set. 2006 was huge for us, and we're on target to make 2007 even better. I'll have a run down of the big hits from 2006 on the show this weekend...

- Steve
