Uncle Deercamp - Old News - 2005 ArchiveMore lies, promises and unfulfilled dreams in 2005. It was a year of shit, but it was a hell of a lot better than 2004. Most of the links on this page are dead, so don't be shocked when get the 404 errors. December 21, 2005 We're fast approaching the insanity of the holiday season and I'm looking at yet another Christmas of running to the mall a few days before the holiday to buy some shit, just for the sake of buying it. I hope folks don't mind getting gift certificates again. Anyway, I managed to start editing Episode 42 and will be adding it and other new bits to the Live365 playlist and posting them to the site. Byron and I are planning on recording another show in the holiday interim next week, so you'll hear all about the living hell we dealt with. From what I've been hearing, Byron is looking at a pretty rough time for three days in a row with family bullshit. Hope he remembers not to eat any deviled eggs. Thankfully, I have to work on Friday and then back to the computer on Monday again. It's good to be busy. Hope that your holidays are better than ours!- Steve December 17, 2005 The holidays are fast approaching and Byron and I will probably manage to squeeze in 2 more shows before the end of the year. We chose not to record last week so we could get some of our Christmas shopping done. Byron and I will both have a lot to say about that ordeal when we record later. Today and over the past few days I've added newly edited bits to Episode 40 and 41. So if you already had some of each, check the Ear Wax page for some that you might have missed. For the music lovers, I posted 4 of Brother Crimewave's tunes on his page. I'm also in the middle of editing and cleaning up some music from a group called Shut Back On. More on them in 2006.
I'm hoping to have a few new items for download over the holiday season. If you haven't already sign up at the Guestbook and I'll keep you in the know. - Steve December 4, 2005 Episode 41 has been added to the site and almost the entire Live365 playlsit has been modified. I know I haven't been updating it as much as I usually do, but at least when it does get updated, it's a major overhaul. I'm in the middle of editing about 4 more bits from Ep 41 and 40 that I should get around to posting soon. We'll be recording a new episode this coming week. - Steve November 23, 2005 Finally got around to posting 3 new bits here and adding them to the Podcast and Live365. There are quite a few more files for me to listen to and dig out the choice morsels for adding to the site. More will be added in the next day or so. - Steve November 10, 2005 Hi folks. My apologies for no new material showing up here in a while. A week of losing a family member and both of my cats has been pretty tough to deal with. Byron and I plan on recording this weekend, so stay tuned. There's lots on the way. - Steve
Just in time for your Halloween downloading: Episode 39 is making it's way to the Ear Wax page. So far, I've posted 5 bits and there are at least a few more to come. Among the downloads are terrifying bits about parents that send you porn, a ringing endorsement for that ass fuck Kwame Kilpatrick, an examination of how a stranger wearing a tutu made of latex penis' will cure your children of their rotten behavior and how much better Byron is feeling these days since he began Physical Therapy (See recent photo >>>). Looking good! I also found a little bit from Episode 37 that I'd overlooked. Another horrifying story - this time I recall the repressed memory of dressing up for the Rocky Horror Picture Show about 20 years ago. God, I sure hope no one has pictures of me from that time period. - Steve October 17, 2005 Episode 38 is starting to make it's way to the Ear Wax page. Two bits are posted there now and I have one more almost ready for posting. I should be able to get at least 2 more bits from the rest of the session. Byron and I will be recording again later this week and working on a new video project that should be fairly easy for me to edit and post in a big fat hurry. With last week's announcement from Apple introducing the Video iPod, I'm thinking it might be time to start podcasting video. Does anyone plan on getting this iPod? I mean, I already have an older iPod, and the thing works just fine for me (even though my battery is shit). Why would I rush out and get a new one just for video? Other than to watch a bus run over computers? ... Guess I'll be heading to CompUSA later. - Steve
Well, the NIN show was pretty fucking cool. Trent did appear to be a little subdued compared to previous performances. Maybe he didn't want to take any chances and break any of the plasma screens he had on stage with him. Ah, nothing beats seeing musicians beat each other senseless with their instruments. The Queens of The Stone Age were pretty cool and Autolux sucked shit like any opening opener should. Their drummer actually said, "Trent likes us, so you should too." What a fucking dork. Trent should fire them for that comment alone. The audience was almost as entertaining. Lots of freak jobs writhing around in X fits. There were a few cutie pies, but Byron and I thought that Judas Priest and Queensryche attracted a much hotter and greater number of girls. It was also kinda chilly, so all the girls that would normally skank out for a NIN show were worried about catching cold. Byron managed to get really good and sick on the way out of there though. Too bad he didn't hurl out the window while we were stuck in Joe Louis Arena parking structure. Thankfully, Byron and I did manage to record a brief episode before the show that I should be editing later this week. - Steve October 7, 2005 More Episode 37 bits are making their way to the site as I continue to fish through the raw audio and find stuff that's tolerable. Also finally getting around to updating the Live365 station. For those of you that listen to it, you'll find that the playlist has changed quite a bit. I trashed over half of the old playlist, added the new episode and stuff that hasn't been on the playlist either in a long time or ever. Byron and I will be recording a new episode tomorrow before we head off to the Nine Inch Nails show at the JLA. We tried to get backstage passes, but I guess Trent heard the review we did of his latest CD. Have to admit, since that episode, I've really grown to like the entire With_Teeth disc. But it still doesn't hold a candle to The Fragile or especially The Downward Spiral. Anyway, here's a little preview of the inevitable conversation Byron and I will have before we go the show. - Steve
October 2, 2005
Got news yesterday that the green Crunch Bus (better known to all of us here as the Cannabus) has been leased out for a trek from Detroit to Indianapolis and back. All the while towing several families, their shit and a vehicle behind it. Byron and I have no doubt that the bus will break down at some point on the trip. Byron's convinced that the break down will occur in one of 2 places: On the way to Indianapolis just across the Indiana border. Around Gary, Indiana. Or it will indeed make the trip down, but then die just as the group is leaving and strand them in that no-man's land between Indianapolis and Lebanon. So if anyone wants to make bets on the where and how the Cannabus will croak, let us know. Drop Byron an email if you need more details with which to make your death predictions. The scary thing is that recently we found that the Cannabus had been broken in to and attempts were made to set it on fire! The retards that did this were obviously home schooled. They tried to set the fire to the seats inside the bus rather than toss a kerosene soaked rag under the hood. Kids these days. - Steve
Conjunctivitis was only the start. Byron's pink eye has progressed into full blown AIDS. No, wait a sec... Sorry, Byron now has full blown Strep Throat. My mistake. After speaking to Byron earlier (actually I spoke, he gurgled), I realized that we won't be recording a new episode in the near future. Maybe I'll record a solo episode. In the meantime, the site/Live365/podcast will continue to get updates with whatever I can find in the archives. We've recorded a lot of stuff over the last 18 months and only about 30% has ever made it to the site. There has to be at least one or two bits that were decent that I overlooked. - Steve
Well... Byron and I managed to avoid recording the show yet again. The culprit this time? Some dope that works with Byron that came to work with a fucking case of Pink Eye! Of course, this nimrod has to stick his pus filled eye socket in everyone's business. What fries my ass (and I'm not even the one that's sick) is that the doctor (i.e. vet) gave this person the green light to go to work. I'm sure we'll be discussing this steaming pile on the next show. In the meantime, I'll see about getting to the editing of the Crunch Bus videos instead. Yeah right. Like I don't have a million other things to do first. Episode 36 has been added to the Live365 playlist in addition to about an hour and a half of older bits. - Steve September 16, 2005 I've been incredibly busy, so editing new episodes and even recording them has been pretty tough for me. But at least the drought is over. I posted Episode 36 today and will be adding it to the Live365 playlist later. Byron and I are planning on recording this weekend, so a new episode will follow relatively soon. At least I hope so. - Steve August 25, 2005 First time for everything around here. I posted both Episode 34 and 35 simultaneously today. I figured, "Why hold on to them?" Technical difficulties have made salvaging additional bits from our recent recording sessions a real pain in the ass. Anyway, it adds up to about 90 minutes of new stuff. I'm also in the middle of adding these bits to the Live365 playlist. By the time most of you see this, it'll be old news. If time permits, I'll dig into the Crunch Bus videos in the next day or so... - Steve August 25, 2005 Two Episodes are in the can and nearly ready for posting. I've got about half of the stuff to go over yet, but should have it done later... Check back tonight... Maybe even a new Crunch Bus video will be ready... - Steve
Don't believe the story in Byron's Odyssey Part 2? Here's a pic of the front window of the establishment. The apocalypse must be coming relatively soon to be giving away wireless shit at such insane savings! And yes, that's Byron's reflection in the window. Episode 34 will be posted this week! - Steve
Episode 33 is posted and ready to rock. I can't tell which bit is the funniest. All of 33 and a slew of older bits have been added to the Live365 Playlist. Episode 34 and a NEW Crunch Bus video are on the way! - Steve August 1, 2005 A piece of custom Red Meat. Not especially funny, but it just makes me sad to see how much Byron and I look like these guys... Anyway, Byron and I recorded ANOTHER new show the other day and now I have 2 that I have to edit. On top of all the Crunch Bus vids. There will be a lot of new stuff in the near future. I'll probably post a little bit at a time - as I complete them. - Steve
July 26, 2005 Here they are, as promised, screen grabs from the latest Crunch Bus videos! This is a pic of just some of the shit we splashed with not only the green Cannabus, but with the ORIGINAL blue Crunch Bus as well! It was a day dedicated to the destruction of technology. As you can see, nothing was safe. Head over to our Picture Page for a dozen other screen grabs from the upcoming videos. And if you think that's all, think again. This was just the stuff Byron and I had sitting around our homes. There are a lot of other pieces just aching to feel the kiss of the Crunch Bus' steel belted death. - Steve July 23, 2005 The Crunch Bus is BACK!Yep. It's back and hungry for technology. Byron and I will be filming a slew of new Crunch Bus videos this afternoon! I'll post a few screen grabs tomorrow! - Steve July 22, 2005 Gnarly! It keeps getting better on Live365. Extra special thanks to the listeners in Birmingham, San Diego, Dallas - Fort Worth, Washington DC, Billings, Kansas City, New York, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles and Boston. These are our top listening cities - so if yours isn't listed, listen more! Which brings me to a question for all of you. Currently, I have a ton of stuff posted on our Live365 station. Over 7 hours to be nearly exact. My question is, would you rather just listen to the latest episode in a constant loop on Live365, or a 7 hour Deercamp extravaganza that contains the newest episode and chunks of past episodes that gets updated every 10 days? Sounds like a no-brainer, huh? Drop us a line and let your voice be heard! - Steve July 20, 2005 Just got around to posting a couple more bits to Episode 32. That makes nearly 90 minutes of stuff in that episode. And thanks to all of the Live365 listeners again! We have shimmied even higher in the ranks over the last week! Even the Podcast thing is getting more hits then I ever thought it would in one week. You guys rock! Byron and I have a new episode recorded... Now I just have to edit the thing. - Steve July 13, 2005 The last week has been pretty incredible for us on Live365! Our rank has gone up into the top 50 of the 1,000's of Talk stations, and we're closing in on the top 40! Byron and I really want to thank those of you that have listened in on the stream. We'll keep it coming! I'll be adding a couple more bits to Episode 32 in the next day or so (been busy with projects around here). - Steve July 12, 2005 Let it never be said that we don't listen to folks that complain around here. We might just never do anything about your complaints. But in this case, I actually went ahead and addressed it. Uncle Deercamp is now Podcasting!I went the cheap ass route and set up a feed with Feed Burner. Hey, it works. Anyway, here's the link for the feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/UncleDeercamp You'll need a browser that supports RSS to view the link. To subscribe to the feed using iTunes 4.9, select Subscribe To Podcast from the advanced menu and either type in the above link or better yet, copy and paste it in. Here's a link to the BLOG (http://uncledeercamp.blogspot.com/) that the feed originates from and I'll update with new bits and other stuff. Pretty much the same stuff you'll see here. But from time to time, I'll probably post something that hasn't been on the site for a long time. - Steve July 10, 2005 The latest episode has been added to the Live365 playlist and so have a bunch of other older bits. In all, there are over 2 hours of new bits that you might or might not have heard before. I tried to dig up some bits that haven't been posted before... In the meantime, there will be more Episode 32 posted later this week. Byron and I will also be recording a new show this week. Bad news on the Crunch Bus: Turns out all 3 of the buses that we use to flatten technology are in the shop with various problems. We're trying to locate some alternate means of wasting all the junk that we have laying around. - Steve July 6, 2005
In the meantime, might I suggest Supersize Steve and Free Brother Crimewave as my choice morsels from this latest crop of bits. I'll Call Byron and Favorite Crack Pipe are pretty damn funny too. Those of you on the mailing list got a message from me last month about Brother Crimewave and his recent run-in with the law. Byron took pictures of Casa Crimewave after SWAT teams raided his suburban home in the search for a mountain of drugs. Well, they didn't find mountains of drugs. But they made a fucking mess while they were looking. Click over to our Picture Page for shots of the devastation... - Steve June 17, 2005 Hey folks. I really must apologize for taking so long to post the new stuff around here. I've been busy with work and well, paying work is only a slightly higher priority then editing show bits and such. Nevertheless, the Episode 31 is in the can and is partially posted right now. I'll post the rest of it later today. In all, it's about 60 minutes of new stuff. And for the faithful listening to us on Live365, I'll have the new material posted there later today as well. In addition, I'll remove some of the bits you've heard too much of and plop a bunch of new ones on the play list there. Byron and I are planning on recording a new episode tomorrow evening and I'll try to get that one edited soon thereafter. And now that he's back from vacation, we have no more excuses for keeping the Crunch Bus locked up. Steve June 9, 2005
Just when I thought I could make time to edit and post the latest show, we get hit with freak storms and the power goes out. A power line just down the street from me was hit by lightning and looks like spaghetti now. Somehow, the utility dudes were able to hook a couple generators to the system and get us running in the middle of the night. But the line is still down and I can't go to the car wash! Byron and I won't be recording this weekend since he's going out of town to do the family fun thing. However a new show will be posted this weekend and the Live365 station will get an update by then as well. By the way... The Uncle Deercamp Bumper Stickers have arrived. If you want one, drop me an email and I'll send you a bunch. Steve June 6, 2005
But after a very cool show, we found ourselves in traffic once again. Turns out that a group of partying Pistons fans caused a monstrous accident on I-75. Byron and I decided to be the assholes in traffic and stop and take a couple pictures. This is the only one that came out though... The other cars in this accident were off the road or removed by the time we got there. Go Pistons! - Steve May 25, 2005 Sorry folks. I've been a bit too busy to get anything new on the site lately. And making money has to take a slightly higher priority these days.
This time next week, I'll have my hands on the first shipment of the Uncle Deercamp Bumper Stickers shown here. Not sure how I'm going to do this just yet, but if you want one, send us a SASE and I'll stuff one in there and send it back to you. Just so long as you promise to stick it someplace folks will see it. Heh. Stick it someplace... - Steve
Just posted! The Uncle Deercamp t-shirt is ready for your purchasing pleasure! Here's a quick look: Head over to the Store page and click the order button to get your hands on this silly shirt. You may notice that the deer is missing his throbbing unit... The next t-shirt will have the deer with a full-on chubbie - I promise. I'm hopeful that the CD will be done over the next few days and available for order shortly thereafter. I'll keep you in the know! - Steve May 11, 2005 We're a little behind on the show right now, but plan to record a monster session in a couple days. Byron has a ton of shit to talk about and so do I. Right now, I'm working on getting things ready to add to the Store page. The first thing to get up there will likely be a T-Shirt and Bumper Sticker. I'm also working on re-re-RE-mastering the Best of Uncle Deercamp Volume 1 CD. It's taking forever to figure out what bits should go on the disc and how much I should edit them to make the most of the 80 minutes the CD gives me. The Live365 Playlist will be updated before this day is over as well... (90 minutes of "new" old shit replaces 90 minutes of "old" old shit) New videos will be posted in the next month. We have an older video of me beating the shit out of a fax machine and we're moving the We-Wish Obituaries to video. It's going to be silly. Now if we can only get Ray Ray to stop smoking and drinking long enough to help out... -Steve May 2, 2005 90 minutes of new shit in the form of Episode 29 were posted today. Not sure what bit is the best. I think I've listened to it too much. All the bits have been added to the Live365 playlist as well. Woo! Thanks to everyone that visited the site last month. We had a record number of downloads last month and bounced around all over on the Live365 charts. The funny thing: there were almost as many Deercamp listeners in Reno as there were in Detroit! Go Reno! Kick Detroit's ass! - Steve April 20, 2005 New bits from Episode 28 are posted. About 40 minutes of new stuff. I may be a bit partial, but I'd recommend "Steve Gets Beat Up." Enjoy the horror of my wild and crazy dating lifestyle. I still have a few more bits that I'd like to edit and post, but will most likely save them for later. The Live365 Playlist is also updated with the newest bits. - Steve April 12, 2005 The Playlist on Live365 has been updated today. Almost 90 minutes of bits from the past have been added to the running playlist. Including a couple bits that were never posted on the site. - Steve April 8, 2005 Hope you all dig this year's new look and feel. I know it's pretty much the same as last year's. I'll redesign it some other time. Anyway, there's new stuff on the site... A new episode of the show is on the way this weekend. But in the meantime, there are 2 new Brother Crimewave tunes on the Ear Wax page and a new video on the Eye Garbage page. Byron and I decided to retire the Crunch Bus video collection and replace it with one compilation video with all your favorite Crunch Bus bits, plus stuff you've never seen before. We had to do this to make room for the coming season of NEW Crunch Bus videos. Among the soon-to-be-destroyed are a Mac 8500, a grape iMac, about 2 dozen various POS PC computers, a few monitors, some inkjet printers and God knows what else. And it's not just the Bus that will be doing the Crunching this year. Any suggestions? Send them to us at info@uncledeercamp.com. We'll see what we can do. - Steve April 3, 2005The Uncle Deercamp Show is 1 year old today! And not one of you sent us a fucking card. Well, since you're all used to us giving out the stuff for free around here, you probably expect us to give you something. All right... Byron and I recorded a new show yesterday and I'll have it posted later this week along with a brand new Crunch Bus video. Happy now? - Steve March 31, 2005 Our first month on Live365 has been pretty freaking cool. We ended up ranked at #32 out of over 250 comedy stations! The best way I can think of to thank all of our loyal listeners is to keep posting new stuff - so I just added Episode 27 (over 90 minutes of new bits) to the Ear Wax page. This next week I'll be pulling all of the Crunch Bus videos from the site and replacing them with a brand new video that compiles all the important parts of 2004's Crunch Bus videos. With the weather warming up here, I have to make room for 2005. - Steve March 22, 2005 Thanks to all of you that have clicked on the Uncle Deercamp Live365 station. It's been up for about 2 weeks and we're ranked at #35 out of 245 comedy stations! Let me know what you think and what you'd like to hear and we'll get it running for you. In the near future, I'll be adding some unreleased bits from past shows and some of Brother Crimewave's music. Currently, I've got the material maxxed out and there are over 7 hours of bits to groove on. Later this week Byron and I will be recording a new show and I should have it posted soon thereafter. We've both been too sick to do much recording these last couple of weeks. God knows what's going around here, but it was enough to send him to the hospital a couple weeks back and myself this past weekend. Vicodin = Good. Steve March 14, 2005 As promised earlier this year, we have finally gone Live365! Currently, there are nearly 7 hours of Uncle Deercamp bits playing 24/7 for your listening pleasure. Recent episodes and a selection of older bits from the past 12 months are playing right now! Eventually, I'll add some bits that never made it to the download page for one reason or another. As well as tunes from Brother Crimewave. Posted back here are a couple new bits from Episode 26. We had some audio troubles that I didn't detect until after the session, so it's a pretty short couple of bits. Oh well. The "Interview With Rob Halford... Kinda" is the better of the 2 bits. In honor of the late Hunter S. Thompson, I dug up the bits from last year when Byron and I celebrated his birthday by discussing the times we got the most fucked up. Head over to the Ear Wax page for this and the latest episodes! - Steve March 6, 2005 Sorry it's been so long in coming folks. I've just posted Episode 25 of the show (about 45 minutes of new stuff!). It's worth the wait though. I'd recommend the "Byron the Homeless Dude" bit. It's a total scream. This next week, I'm planning on getting our Live365 station up and running. Took a lot longer than I thought it would to get some money in here... We just recorded Episode 26 and I should have that uploaded pretty soon too. - Steve February 10, 2005 What's that smell? It's a new Episode of the Uncle Deercamp Show on the Ear Wax page. 50 minutes of new senses shattering crap - just what you've come to expect from us. We're getting closer to going Live365 - Just waiting to get paid... - Steve January 26, 2005 A little bit longer than I'd like to go without an update, but at least there's a bit more than usual this time. We've got 2 brand new Crunch Bus videos filmed in the sunshine and warmth of last summer. God damn cold weather... There's also Episode 23 of the Uncle Deercamp Show ready to download. About 40 minutes of new stuff to bake your mind. Byron and I are planning on recording a new show Saturday and I'll probably have it posted a week or so from now. There are also a bunch of Crunch Bus videos that I just have to finish editing... Someday... Byron and I spent some time at the North American International Auto Show last week and got some great pictures of the hotties standing around the cars. I'll be adding them to the site soon... - Steve January 10, 2005 Only a couple of bits for Episode 22, but they're both pretty funny. Sorry the Post Holiday Depression bit is another beefy file. It's worth the download. Trust me. - Steve |
