Uncle Deercamp - Old News - 2004 ArchiveRead all about the lies and promises that I spewed in the first year of Uncle Deercamp's existence. Most of the links on this page are dead, so don't be shocked when get the 404 errors. December 26, 2004 Who says the gifts stop after the holiday? Not us! Just added to Episode 21, nearly 60 more minutes of new stuff. That adds everything up to over 100 minutes of new show bits. Show your modem just how much you hate it and start downloading now! Sorry that a couple of the files are so big. They're worth it. They play for a long time! - Steve December 24, 2004 We're getting ready to wrap up the first near full year of Uncle Deercamp and can't thank all of you enough for listening, downloading our crap and writing in. I just posted 5 bits for Episode 21 - nearly 50 minutes of new material. And I still have about 5 more bits to filter through. But before I do that, I have to finish up my shopping. Over the next week, I'll be posting the rest of the stuff from our last recording session. From Byron and I, Happy Holidays and a safe and kick ass New Year! We have a few surprises in store early in the new year. A new interface, streaming Live365 and a ton of new videos. - Steve December 7, 2004 Two more bits were added today to Episode 20. Bringing the grand bull moose total to 59 minutes of new Deercamp Show stuff! Might I recommend "Steve Gets Picked Up" - a true story... Episode 21 is on the way and so is a another Crunch Bus video. Sign up at the guestbook to hear about it before any of your loser friends do. - Steve November 30, 2004 Once aagin, I must apologize. Episode 20 is posted and I'm adding new bits as I get them edited. The project I'm mired in will be coming to a head the middle of December, so I should be back to regular updating at that point. Thanks for visiting and sticking with us. There's a lot of new video and audio stuff on the back burner and once things calm down, they'll start appearing. Also, the "Least Shitty Bits - Volume 1" CD is almost ready for your purchasing pleasure. 78 minutes of marginally funny early Uncle Deercamp bits. Sign up at the guestbook for regular updates. Byron and I will be recording a new show in a couple days and I'll get that one posted as soon as I can. I wonder if anyone out there would be interested in helping us out with editing the shows! HA! -Steve November 13, 2004 Sorry folks. I've been very busy with work and Uncle Deercamp has taken a back seat. But we're back from the abyss and there is a ton of new material to download right now in the form of Episode 19! Since it was recorded around Halloween, we even have a couple scary bits to share with you. October 27, 2004 Well, as we in the USA get ready to vote next Tuesday, we can't forget about the really important holiday on this coming Sunday: Halloween! Byron and I recorded a special Uncle Deercamp mini episode discussing the scariest things we've ever seen and done in Detroit. And amazingly, none of the stories involve burning down an entire city block. I'll be posting those bits and a butt load from Episode 19 in the next day or so. Make sure your modems stretch before you start downloading... - Steve October 19, 2004 Hey everyone! I still haven't received even one single attempt at naming three intro tunes! There are five free Uncle Deercamp CD's here waiting for you to snag! A new show is recorded and will hopefull be posted as soon as I get Internet access at my new place. But might I suggest Marriage Material from episode 18. It's funny. - Steve October 12, 2004 What a mess. We recorded the show nearly two weeks ago and real work has kept me from doing any real editing. So last night I sat down to finish the edits and post the new stuff. Well, my audio program decided to take a shit on me and eradicate everything I had done. I'm in no mood to re-edit, but will in the next day or so. In the menatime, there are a couple new bits ready for download right now. There are a lot more on the way. In fact, there's over 1 hour of new material in Episode 18. - Steve September 23, 2004 No one seems to be getting tired of them... So another Crunch Bus video is up and running for your slake your destructive urges! Head over to the Eye Garbage page! - Steve September 16, 2004 Episode 17 is here for to satisfy your downloading urges. The "12 Step Neighbor" bit is a big file, but worth the download wait. Byron runs the gamut of argueing with someone that thinks they're an alcoholic, to getting into a fight with a real one. And all he really wants is a beer or a cigarette. In all, there are over 45 minutes of new bits to download. - Steve September 13, 2004 Well, I nearly have Episode 17 in the can. Well over 30 minutes of material will be available soon. But to make room for it, I'm going to have to dump all of Episodes 12 and 13 for good. If you haven't downloaded them yet, this will be your last chance until our CD hits the site. The disc will be packed with 78 minutes of shit from current and past shows and will be called "Least Shitty Bits: Volume 1." Right now, the tentative track listing is: 1 - Lord of The Flies If there's a bit that you were hoping to see on the CD, now's the time to tell me. I'm going to be posting ordering information for the CD in the next few days. The thing will run you a whomping $10 and look like something that was ripped from my computer at home. If you ask nicely, we'll even sign it and throw in some other cool Uncle Deercamp swag. And I'm also mired in an animation bit that I can't really talk much about yet. It'll just give it all away if I say anything. Watch this space or sign our guestbook for weekly updates. Or don't. The choice is always yours. - Steve September 3, 2004 Episode 16 is up and running. If I can suggest that you download Lord of The Flies - it's a freaking scream. And to make the other half of our audience happy, we bash the democrats this week. -Steve August 27, 2004 Yet another Crunch Bus video is posted. This time, a series of inkjet printers bite the dust. It's cool how they just splash into bits! Recording for Episode 16 of the show begins tomorrow after we run over more stuff. And just so you don't think we're all about running things over, a few new videos of different variety are on the way. On a serious note, Byron and I want to thank everyone that has dropped by the site this month. August traffic was higher than any previous month and downloads were at an all time high. Thanks, and we'll keep dishing up the slop! - Steve August 22, 2004 Things just didn't work out for us to record a new show this week, but hope you're all digging Episode 15. Byron and I plan on getting #16 in the can later this week. Stay tuned. But the really cool thing was today I recorded not one, but three of Uncle Deercamp's hot female fans for some intros. You'll be hearing Robin, Diann and Lisa on the shows in the future. The cool thing is that I got all of them to say, "Nice Spaghetti, Byron." - Steve August 19, 2004 Just posted and ready to assault your ears: Episode 15 of the Uncle Deercamp Show. There's over 30 minutes of new material for you to groove on. And speaking of groovy, there are 2 new Brother Crimewave tunes posted on the Ear Wax page as well. These are a couple of nifty little ditties that will have to tapping your toes for about the entire time the song is playing. After that, you're on your own. - Steve August 11, 2004 Yeah. I know that there hasn't been any new audio lately. Cut me some slack - I've been busy. Anyway, Byron and I will be recording a new show this weekend. I'll post stuff as quickly as I can. Count on it! So if you haven't downloaded Episode 10 audio, do it now. I'll be removing those files to make room for the coming of Episode 15. In the meantime, the Crunch Bus Episode 2 video on the Eye Garbage page. This one is really brief. But it's cute. - Steve August 7, 2004 It's been brought to my attention (again) that the videos aren't playing as well as they should on Windows machines. So just cuz I'm such a nice guy, I'm posting AVI versions of the Crunch Bus and latest Barfing Tomato videos. I think the problem stems from Windows Media Player - since it really is a shitty program. I'd recommend downloading QuickTime and using it to view our vids and your collection of porn. More audio bits coming later this week and more Crunch Bus as well. - Steve August 4, 2004 Big news! Lots of new stuff has been added to the site. The first Crunch Bus video is up and ready for viewing. Yes. The first. There will be more bits to come very soon. More Episode 14 bits have been added to the Ear Wax page also. More will follow later. Unfortunately, there won't be a new Uncle Deercamp episode this week. Byron is on vacation at Beaver Island with his wife and 2 lesbians. Maybe I'll post some old unreleased stuff over the next week. Finally got around to adding the pictures to the "Where was the video camera when we fucking needed it" page. Pretty silly stuff. And that's just the start. More videos are in the edit stage. It's just a matter of me sitting down and doing it. - Steve July 30, 2004 The site got some under-the-hood fixing today and a modest guest book is running. Other minor flubs in the site's navigation were also cleaned up. More fun stuff to come later. - Steve July 29, 2004 Finally. A new barfing tomato video is on the Eye Garbage page. And more will follow in the next day or so. So drop back soon. Believe it or not, I have some tomato out takes that are pretty odd. The stuff of nightmares. I also added the first bit from episode 14 on the Ear Wax page. There will be more very soon. - Steve July 26, 2004 The download reports tell the tale: You just don't want to download anything that might punish your internet connection. We here at uncle Deercamp are ever aware of your precious bandwidth, so I've reposted everything at the much lower quality, but smaller in file size, 32 bit audio. The files are now half the size they were the last time you visited. I don't think there's a file there that goes much over 2 Meg. Most are way below that. Have a blast, and let us know what you think. And by the way, more tomato mutilation is on the way to the Eye Garbage page. And I have the Crunch Bus digitized and awaiting final editing. Byron and I are gearing the bus up for a splat fest that will make the folks at Epson shit their pants. - Steve July 21, 2004 As promised, Episode 13 is running right now. Sorry the files are a bit on the beefy side. But they're worth the download time. If you really don't think your mere mortal dial up connection can handle it, just drop me a line and maybe I'll burn you a CD. Maybe. - Steve July 20, 2004 Yeah. Sorry it's taken so long. Episode 13 is nearly completed the editing stage and will be posted tomorrow. The focus of this episode is the birthday of Hunter S. Thompson - this past Sunday - and our most fucked up moments. Of course, Byron has much better stories than I do and they're a freaking riot. Sit tight folks, I'll be posting over 30 minutes of stuff tomorrow morning. - Steve July 14, 2004 Hope you dig the new gateway page. Now it should be pretty obvious how to navigate the site. The tops of each page will be the next thing fixed. Bear with me. I've been busy. (it's fixed now) I finally got around to digitizing the initial shooting of the Crunch Bus. Hope to have that ready for download in another day or so. - Steve July 12, 2004 A bunch of new Episode 12 bits are up and eagerly waiting to assault your ears. If I might suggest "The New Odd Couple" as a must-download. It's a riot. There are more bits to be posted later this week, but they might not make it before we get the next episode recorded. Depends on my workload. Anyway, also check out the "Deecamp at Ozzfest" bit. If you don't want to download it, just know that we'll be taking Uncle Deercamp on the road to Ozzfest this August at the DTE Energy Music Theater (search for the place and tickets yourself. I'm not giving them any free links.). We're going to set up a spot in the parking lot and bring out some wild shit. In other words, we have no idea what we'll be doing. - Steve July 3, 2004 New Episode 11 bits are up and ready to download. There will be more in the next day or so. I'm just a bit behind right now. I'll be adding a couple new Brother Crimewave tunes as well. You'll probably notice (or maybe not) the much better audio quality of the new stuff versus (especially) the old bits. I think that we've finally gotten the whole thing under control and even though we're talking about the same old shit, it sounds a hell of a lot better. As for the "Best of" collection, I think that I'll be putting that together this next week. - Steve June 24, 2004 Episode 10 is posted and eagerly awaiting your downloading needs. Hope you've got the bandwidth to handle it - There's over 30 minutes of new stuff to download. for those of you that are new to the site and wondering about getting copies of the old material, we'll be offering a "Best of Episodes 1-10" CD really soon. It will contain several of the better bits from the past shows and several bits that never made it to the site. Hopefully, I'll have that available in the near future. New Eye Garbage will be posted in the next week or so as well. - Steve June 11, 2004 We're back! I've spent the last week and a half without Internet access and I don't know how I managed to survive. It's all a blur. I don't like to think about it. The material with Brother Crimewave was somehow eradicated before it made it to the tape... We'll have to try again at a later time. The good news is that there are 4 new Episode 9 bits (nearly 30 minutes of audio!) for download on the Ear Wax page and filming for The Crunch Bus has finally begun. It's really primal stuff. 100% mindless entertainment. I'll be posting that and another video project that we've begun shooting as i get time to edit them... Episode 10 will be posted later this week. Where else could you get this kind of stuff for free? - Steve May 29, 2004 Lots of new Ear Wax for your downloading pleasure has been posted. There will be more of Episode 8 posted at a later time, including a brief moment with Brother Crimewave. - Steve May 20, 2004 It took a little longer than usual to edit, and now there's a bunch of Episode 7 stuff ready to download. This episode was recorded at a nearby mall - see if you can hear the people in the background. I did my best to eliminate them. I don't think anyone knew what we were doing there - they just ignored us as we set up and plugged our equipment in and went to town. No one even asked us if we were from a local station or anything. Even the security guards just pretended we weren't there. It was really creepy. - Steve May 12, 2004 Another week of bad audio quality has greatly limited what I can work with and post. I managed to rescue a segment where we talk to some dude called Nergal and discuss Goth Greeting Cards. Head over to the Ear Wax page for that and more. We should have the bugs ironed out for the next show. In the menatime, I'm going to be pulling older audio bits as I continue to add new ones. If you want a copy of the older things, I'll be posting them again as I get to the point where I can afford more server space. If you have to have them now, just drop me a line and we'll set something up. Byron and I are working on gathering up the time to start filming the Crunch Bus segments and a couple other things. Now if it would just stop raining so much. - Steve May 6, 2004 Last week's show was a bit of a bust. the audio quality was just not there and I really couldn't salvage much, except for a small bit that I posted today. I've been considering a new last name for a long time and Byron had a few suggestions. Also, I finally got around to posting a couple new Brother Crimewave tunes. If you missed the first 2, you're SOL for a bit. I have to watch the disk space usage here. I'll get around to posting them again sometime in the future. - Steve April 27, 2004 5 new Uncle Deercamp Show bits are up and ready to download (4 new ones and one straggler from last week's show) on the Ear Wax page. All together, there is over 30 minutes of new stuff to listen to and pass around. This week, we'll be adding a new dimension to the show - that is if we can get it working... I have 3 obituaries that I'm going to try and post soon. The grim reaper has not taken a holiday. - Steve April 21, 2004 Posted 3 new chunks of Uncle Deercamp Show Ear Wax today (Schlitz at the Laser Show - Tongue Jacking - Flaming Vomit Prank). Working on posting an obituary today as well. We'll see how I feel. - Steve April 15, 2004 Finally got around to posting a few bits of new Ear Wax. It's the first of several installments of the Uncle Deercamp Show. Basically it's a bunch of audio snippets starring myself and Byron tackling important topics like "Jackie O bush" and what one's shit might be like if one ate too many Peeps. There are just a few items there at the moment, but more will be showing up soon. - Steve April 11, 2004 I know it's been a while. But there's stuff coming soon. Both Byron and I have been a little busy with out real lives to get too deep into the site lately. I'll be posting a ton of new Ear Wax items this week and we've got a case of ether on order to help get the Crunch Bus up and running. In the meantime, there's a new obituary for you to laugh and point at. I changed the format so it's easier for me to build and update in case I fuck up the spelling or something. Hope you dig it. - Steve April 1, 2004 Not a hoax. Not an April Fool's prank. Please go to www.stopfcc.com and sign the petition. If you don't want to give them your email address, make one up. The reason I push for signing such petitions is that as I flip through channels, I find that the religious nutballs are rapidly organizing their own petitions against folks like Stern, Mancow, Drew and Mike, the Lovesponge and so on. The moral majority has one real advantage over those of us that enjoy oddball entertainment: they're far more organized. But the one thing they lack: a cool fucking name like Uncle Deercamp. When I get home tonight, I'll post a couple new Brother Crimewave tunes. So if you want the first two, download them now. when I buy more server space, I'll post them all for good. And this weekend (hopefully), I'll be adding the first installment of the Uncle Deercamp show. - Steve March 28, 2004 As promised, another obit went up this eveing. The best bad guy ever drops Jessica Simpson. This past weekend was something of a success. Byron and I managed to get the kinks out of our audio recording situation with the help of Brother Crimewave. It's a pretty cool setup and it didn't cost us a fortune. But that's kind of the whole idea here: we want to provide you top notch crap entertainment on a shoe-string budget. Hey! Speaking of Brother Crimewave, what do you think of his tunes? I'll post a couple more later this week. Due to file size space restrictions, and the fact that I'm a cheap ass, I can only post a few tunes at a time. I'm not sure, but I think Byron is in talks with another band and maybe we'll get their stuff here as well. - Steve March 26, 2004 Mel Gibson is the newest entry in the We Wish Obits. Hope you like it. Another obit will follow in a day or so. Well, now that the weather here has stabilized and the temperature can be measured in positive numbers again, filming for the Cruch Bus is getting closer. I'll keep updating. - Steve March 22, 2004 Updated navigation and new sections are posted. Here's the scoop: Eye Garbage - Video downloads and links to the other stuff on the site that's visual. this is where we'll be posting our video snippets and such Ear Wax - Audio downloads - Mind scarring talk from Byron and myself (should have stuff to post in about a week or so) and tuneage from Detroit's own Brother Crimewave. A new page of picture based bits that I can only call "Where was the Video Camera when we fucking needed it?" Now I just have to find the pictures Byron gave me... Of course, the We-Wish Obits are still here and growing. Uncle Deercamp's Ray Ray is on the street as I type this and eagerly looking for the Grim Reaper's next victim. And I even got around to creating a Contact page. Now I just need to write up a Guestbook. - Steve March 17, 2004 Rob Halford is the latest casualty on the Obituaries page. But at least he took a bunch of Canadians with him... What a guy. Projects are piling up here and sooner or later, we'll be posting them. I should be getting some music to post soon and I'm working on a new series of pages that are mostly pictures- the kind of stuff that we just didn't sem to have a video camera handy for. Byron and I are also working on an audio project that I'm hoping to get properly recorded very soon. We just got smacked with a pile of fresh snow here and that's pushed back The Crunch Bus date. Frigging Michigan weather. - Steve March 5, 2004 The first obituary in which we find that someone is indeed still alive, even though popular opinion states the contrary, is up. We're beginning to get requests here for people that you'd like to see on the We-Wish Obituaries page and they are always the same person, that individual's boss. You people are sick. Glad you don't work for me. - Steve March 1, 2004 The first month of We-Wish Obituaries ends with Gene Simmons losing his tongue. Lots of other stuff is on the way. - Steve February 26, 2004 Bill Gates is the latest to feel the Uncle Deercamp Reaper. It's a pretty sick one, so be ready. Okay. Normally I wouldn't use this forum to support someone like Howard Stern, but the raw deal that he's getting from Clear Channel is 100% pure bull-fucking-shit. It's funny. Free speech can be offensive and it may not always be what you want to hear, but as a listener, you have the most important freedom of all: the freedom to listen to someone else. Or better yet, speak up and start your own movement. One might argue that this is what Clear Channel did, but it was Big Brother making the decision for you. And that's the REAL problem here. If you're comfortable with some God-Squad nut with a crack habit and his pockets lined with special interest money making your decisions for you, then do nothing. If you don't like having your media fed to you on a nice, safe, harmless, plastic spork, then get off your ass and tell Clear Channel and the FCC to stay out of our entertainment. Start here and while you're at it tell these folks what you think. That is, if you have the balls. Ask me if you need a letter to send them. You can have a copy of mine. - Steve February 25, 2004 A little behind on the obituaries these days. Rest assured we have several dead people that we're just dying to tell you about here. After talking with Byron the other day, a tenative date for filming the first segment of The Crunch Bus has been set. I'm not sure if we should invite spectators, but we'll see. - Steve February 16, 2004 Oh yeah. It had to happen. And you only wish it were the truth. The little freaks in the Quizno's TV commercials are the latest to find themselves on the We Wish Obituary page. - Steve February 12, 2004 Yeah, the obituary page is pretty sick. Lars Ulrich and David Bowie have been the latest to be listed on the We-Wish Obituary page. More are coming soon. I'm trying to update every other day, but I'm sure I'll fall off that wagon any time now. - Steve February 8, 2004 Posted a couple of barfing cherry tomato videos today on the Downloads page and the first in our new regular series: We-Wish Obituaries. These are the sick and twisted obituaries you really wish you could read about in the newspaper tomorrow morning. Of course, the first victim had to be Michael Jackson. As you'll soon read, it takes one sick monkey to kill another. And before you send us any hate mail, just remeber it's just a frigging joke. We all really love Michael Jackson here at Uncle Deercamp. But he broke our heart when he told us we were too old for him. - Steve February 3, 2004 All right. So MP4 isn't as widely used as I had thought. So for those of you that don't feel like upgrading (and from what I'm being told, who also don't have a Mac), I've posted the video with Byron wasting the PC in MPEG format. I'll try to make sure that all future videos are available that way, but you really should consider moving to the MP4 players. The format rocks. Another video will be posted in the next day or so. And Byron and I are revving up the Crunch Bus for some serious destruction. Right now, weather is all that's holding us up. It's frigging cold here. -Steve January 27, 2004 New to the Downloads page is our first completed video. This was an experimental project in which Byron takes out a bit of frustration on a computer. I'm currently editing another video and should have something to post in the next few days. -Steve January 16, 2004 Welcome to Uncle Deercamp. The only site that tastes like chicken after it's been run over a few times. My name is Steve and I'm half of the Uncle Deercamp project. Byron will be adding his 2 cents here as we move deeper into the insanity that is Uncle Deercamp. You may be wondering what exactly this whole Uncle Deercamp thing is. Without going into the long winded origins of this project, I'll just describe what we're about in the here and now. Uncle Deercamp is a concoction of insane things that we've been working on here for some time. But before I go on, I should point out that Uncle Deercamp is not for kids. If you're underage or your country and/or your religious beliefs conflict with what we're doing here, do yourself a favor and leave. I don't have the time to deal with your bitchy emails. We have a senseless violence project called The Crunch Bus, which usually ends with several bits of technology dying a terrible death before they go to that big IT department in the sky. We have a cartoon series called Milk Carton Girl and The Dickhead Bug. There's conversation with our regular cast of nitwits. We'll also be looking for you to donate your experiences in the near future. We'll keep you posted on that one. We'll be providing you with consumer tips, interviews with all kinds of nut jobs and all manner of sketch and real-life insanity. And that's just the tip of the shit-berg. Most of these things will be available online for your downloading pleasure, but for the real hard core freaks out there, we'll be dumping them all on a DVD for your purchasing pleasure. As of this posting, the site is still under contruction and i'll be adding funtionality and content as I go. If you'd like to get a notice when new stuff gets added to the site, sign the guestbook (which isn't working yet either). I swear on soul of Cid the dead dog, that your information will not be sold to a third party. For now, just drop back soon. Steve |
